Electrostatic dissipative & conductive floors
The Commercial Flooring Co (TCFC Ltd) were tasked with providing Continental Teves in Ebbw Vale with a new antistatic floor for their new sensitive manufacturing plant, the existing hi build resin factory floor had seen better days and was delaminating in places and flaking in others. It became obvious the 6mm resin needed to be removed back to the concrete which itself had some issues with a soft surface which we needed to remove until we had a solid base to work from.
The knock-on effect in additional time grinding meant the second phase timing became crucial as the completion date was inflexible. The sub floor was then rebuilt laying a hard-curing moisture tolerant smoothing compound on primer so that we could lay a liquid DPM owing to the moisture content of the aging slab. A topcoat gave us the smooth finish required to enable our team to then lay the copper grid which was tested by the company electrician before laying could commence.
The additional time taken over the preparation paid dividends with the final-result, rubber can be an unforgiving material, but the Nora Grano 1000 x 1000 tiles loved the care that had been taken over the sub floor.
The clients had worked closely with us and we were able to keep them well informed of the progress and any issue that occurred, as a result the client was delighted with the outcome.
‘We were delighted with the support from TCFC, who provided excellent technical support and turned the project around in what was a challenging timescale. We would not hesitate to recommend them’
